Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the fastest printing turnaround time?

A: We have a lot of products that are printed and ready to ship within 1 business day. Note that printing turnaround refers to the time it takes to produce your order. This does not include delivery. Be sure to account for delivery times when you place your order. Your order will be ready for shipping after your preferred printing turnaround time, which you can specify in the order calculator.

If you chose 24-hour printing and your design is approved by 8pm EST, your order will print that evening and ship from our facility within 24 hours. Read more about our printing turnaround time.

Q: What is the difference between matte, gloss, and high gloss UV?

A: Select the right coating based on your purpose. The finish you choose will help protect items and elevate the overall feel of your printed items.

Gloss and high-gloss UV add vibrance to the colors in your design. The difference is high gloss is shinier. We recommend choosing a gloss finish if you want protection from scratches and mishandling. Keep in mind, their surface catches the light, which makes text-heavy materials difficult to read and the surface difficult to write on.

Matte coating is ideal for readable content, and they are also easier to write on using ballpoint pens and permanent ink. It also adds a subdued, elegant effect that goes well with simple designs.

Q: What is a "trim," "safe zone," and "bleed"?

A: These are important terms to help you understand which elements of your design are within the printing guidelines.

“Trim” shows you the full, finished size of the printed product. When laying out your design, the images and copy placed in this area will be trimmed off.

The “safe zone” is inside the trim. This is where you should include important elements and information within your design to avoid them being trimmed off.

The “bleed” is the extra material that will be trimmed off. This area exists for you to extend a little of the unnecessary edges of your design so you’re not left with white edges.

Q: What type of files can I submit for printing?

A: We accept PDF, JPEG, Illustrator, Photoshop and Publisher files. You can set up your print file with our free downloadable templates.

Q: What is the best cardstock for business cards?

A: We recommend choosing 16 pt. cardstock. It’s slightly thicker than the standard 14 pt. cardstock and can withstand multiple handlings.

Q: Can I print on both sides of the vinyl banner?

A: Yes. Our high-quality vinyl poster printing will allow you to print on both the front and the back side of your vinyl poster. However, some retractable banner back supports and slightly see-through mesh banners only offer front printing.

Q: Which is the most durable material for my banner?

A: For outdoor installations, we recommend premium 15 oz. vinyl. Choose this heavy-duty vinyl for long-term banner displays that get exposed to harsh weather conditions.

Q: Can I add holes to mount my banners?

A: Yes, nickel grommets (eyelets) are available on vinyl and step and repeat banners.

Q: What is the most durable sticker material?

A: White vinyl is the most long-lasting material for stickers. They are UV-resistant and weatherproof so you can use them outdoors.

You can also choose BOPP labels (biaxially-oriented polypropylene), which are oil and water-resistant for bottles and packaging that need to be stored in the fridge.

Wherever you plan to use your stickers, we offer plenty of customization options so you can print the best stickers for your needs.

Q: What is shrink-wrapping?

A: Shrink wrapping is when we heat polymer plastic film to cover and package items. We do this to bundle your orders and keep them protected.

Q: Is my artwork checked for errors before it is printed?

A: We offer two proofing options. If you select “Print Right Away,” your file will get a 30-point human review to ensure technical quality. We’ll contact you immediately for any problems that can’t be fixed.

If you select “I want a PDF proof” you will review the PDF file before we proceed to printing. Note: You’ll need to approve the PDF file in order to proceed with production.
